If you live in one of 20 countries listed below and purchased (or are going to purchase this year) the 1DMarkIII or the 1DsMarkIII, Canon Europe will extend your warranty by one year for free.
Canon has said that there are no plans to extend this offer to the US, other than the warranty extension received if you sent your unit in for the sub-mirror repair.
